Information about Brussels:
Brussels is the capital of Belgium and the de facto capital of the European Union (EU). It is also the largest urban area in Belgium, comprising 19 municipalities, including the municipality of the City of Brussels, which is the de jure capital of Belgium, in addition to the seat of the French Community of Belgium and of the Flemish Community.
Brussels has grown from a 10th-century fortress town founded by a descendant of Charlemagne to more than one million inhabitants. The city has a population of 1.1 million and the metropolitan area has a population of over 1.8 million, both making it the largest in Belgium.Since the end of the Second World War, Brussels has been a main centre for international politics. Hosting principal EU institutions as well as the headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the city has become the polyglot home of numerous international organisations, politicians, diplomats and civil servants.
Brussels is officially bilingual, with both French and Dutch being spoken in the city. All road signs, street names, and many adverts and services are shown in both languages. Linguistic tensions remain, and the language laws regarding some municipalities surrounding Brussels are an issue of considerable controversy in Belgium.
And now my diary :
I arrive to Charleroi´s airport at 17:00 and I take a bus to Brussel (The bus takes about 1 hour)
My hotel is in front of Gare du midi station and it seems very comfortable.
When I have done the check in, I put all things in my room and take my camera to visit the city.
I want visit Grand Place because Saturday I´ll have to take a bus with destiny : Amsterdam.
In brussels you can see some places are comic related :
In 15 minutes more or less I arrive to Grand Place :
Today I don´t have much time to visit the city. It´s half past nine and I decided buy some food in a little Carrefour market.
Tonight I´ll have a great dinner : Ramen,apple juice,crisps and gofre. "" Itadakimasu""
Friday,25 of May 2012
Today I´ll visit Brussels city,so very early I take my camera and I start walking towards around Grand Place.
The architecture in Brussels is diverse, and spans from the medieval constructions on the Grand Place to the postmodern buildings of the EU institutions
Gallery St.Hubert :
Mmmm, every cakes smell very well and I have thought that will be better take a breakfast :
The museum is fantastic, but I have to continue visiting the city. Next destiny : Palace of Justice .
And now to the Northern Quarter business district :
A beautiful and peaceful place near to Wertz museum :
And finally,Wiertz Museum .
The museum offers an atmosphere that preserves feel of the romantic artistic movement quite perfectly. Today the Antoine Wiertz Museum is one of the Royal Museums of Fine Art in Belgium, along with the Constantin Meunier Museum, and the Museums of Modern and Ancient Art.
The building contains 220 paintings, and receives a small handful of visitors per day. It is also conveniently located near Luxembourg railway station, making it fast and easy to get to. So, if you are planning an outing that is low key, but still interesting and stimulating, then perhaps you should swing by the Antoine Wiertz Museum for a taste of 19th-century romanticism.
And now to visit the Museum of Natural Sciences.
The Dinosaur Gallery, with more than thirty complete skeletons and numerous dinosaur fragments, is the largest dinosaur exhibition of Europe.
The Gallery of Evolution is unique in Belgium! No fewer than 600 fossils and 400 animal exhibits tell the story of animal biodiversity over the years.
Along the new hall 250 years of Natural Sciences are explained, and 20 major scientists presented with their contributions to this incredible field
The museum is fantastic. It has 4 floors and the dinosaur skeleton are incredible. If you like science this place is the best to visit.
My next destiny is the Cinquantenaire Park.
Cinquantenaire triumphal arch
The collection originally consisted of a set of exhibits collected by an officer, Louis Leconte. Approximately 900 pieces were brought together, the collection was later heavily enriched by legacies, gifts and exchanges. Leconte was particular in choosing from equipment abandoned by the Germans in 1918.
Today, it is possible to find uniforms, weapons, vehicles and military equipment of all ages and all countries there
This museum is the most amazing that ever I have visited. You can see a survey of more than 10 centuries of military and technological history: that would perhaps be the best way to describe the Museum. The collections range from suits of armour over valuable firearms and masterly crafted swords to armoured vehicles and airplanes.
Uniforms both Belgian and foreign demonstrate the evolution in military equipment and the influence of civil fashion on military clothing.
The history of our country is of course never far away: the Austrian, French and Dutch periods, Belgian independence and military politics, the weal and woe of the dynasty, the big world conflicts,... Everything is brought back to life through numerous paintings, sculptures, decorations and other memorabilia.
And in front of this museum you can visit Autoworld :
I think that is a perfect moment to try the famous "Gaufre de Bruxelles". Mmmmm....
Today is enought,I have walked a lot and I´m very tired
Saturday,26 of May 2012
Today will be a great day,I´m sure.
I get up very early to take a bus with destiny : Amsterdam
Amsterdam is the capital and largest city in the European country of the Netherlands. Amsterdam is famous for its canals and dikes. Unlike most other countries, the government is not in Amsterdam, but in The Hague.
Amsterdam has about 800,000 inhabitants, two universities and an international airport "Schiphol Airport". About 2.2 million people live in the metropolitan area. The city of Amsterdam is the world's most multi-cultural city.
You can visit Heineken Museum
But for me is more interesting take a ship to visit the famous canals :
Is time to walk around the city :
This whole country is really famous for its flowers, and specifically for its tulips, so it should come as no surprise that one of the most popular free things in Amsterdam is a stroll down the block-long flower market, which is officially called by its Dutch name of Bloemenmarkt in many places.
The Dutch genuinely do love their fresh flowers, and this market exists mostly for locals, though it’s also very popular with tourists. It’s open and reasonably busy even during January and February, so there’s plenty to see at all times of the year.
And now to visit Hard Rock Café. My 7th Hard Rock around the world (Krakow,Edimburgh,Florence,Madrid,Dublin,Manchester and now Amsterdam)
Windmills
Originally, this windmill was used to keep some polder land dry. Until 1965 it stood close to the windmill '1200 Roe' along de Haarlemmerweg. It was moved there because it wasn't necessary any more.
It is now sometimes used to pump water into the adjacent sport park.:
Holland is famous for Tulip Flower, windmills, canals and of course ....cheese. So ,I have decided visit a farmer to make my own cheese ^^ :
And finally I buy some cheese to me and my family .
Is the time to return to Brussels. Tomorrow much more !!
Sunday 27 of May 2012
Today I return to Grand Place to take a bus again but with a different destiny: Luxembourg
Luxembourg is a landlocked country in western Europe, bordered by Belgium, France, and Germany.
Luxembourg is a member of the European Union, NATO, OECD, the United Nations, and Benelux, reflecting the political consensus in favour of economic, political, and military integration. The city of Luxembourg, the largest and capital city, is the seat of several institutions and agencies of the EU.
Luxembourg National Bank
Notre-Dame Cathedral :
I continue to walking around the city
Luxembourg park
Monument du souvenir, Gëlle Fra, War memorial
Well, now I have to return to Brussels. I have to take a bus again thinking that tomorrow I´ll visit Bruges and Ghent

Bruges
Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It is located in the northwest of the country.
The historic city centre is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO. It is oval-shaped and about 430 hectares in size. The area of the whole city amounts to more than 13,840 hectares, including 1,075 hectares off the coast, at Zeebrugge (meaning "Brugge aan Zee" or "Bruges on Sea"). The city's total population is 117,073 (1 January 2008),of which around 20,000 live in the historic centre. The metropolitan area, including the outer commuter zone, covers an area of 616 km² and has a total of 255,844 inhabitants as of 1 January 2008.
Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam, it is sometimes referred to as "The Venice of the North". Bruges has a significant economic importance thanks to its port. At one time, it was the "chief commercial city" of the world.
